TSG Green is focused on sustainability while actively engaging in ongoing research and development of FutureTrees through the establishment of tissue culture laboratories, and nurseries as well as the cultivation and production of plantlets in Kuching, Sarawak.
The world demand for timber from planted forests has grown exponentially. We aspire for a sustainable timber species that can achieve our company’s three main pillars of sustainability : environmental sustainability, economic sustainability and socio-economic sustainability.
We found that Futuretrees has the greatest potential compared to other planted tree species. Through collaboration with Green Afforestation International Network Sendirian Berhad, we adopted the RT Paulownia clone for breeding and growing under the local tropical climate where it thrives. Futuretrees is ready for mass cultivation in Malaysia.
From the economic sustainability viewpoint, the Futuretrees represents an extremely viable option due to growing global demand. Through our tested approach, with proof of concept and immediate readiness for economies of scale, we sell and supply Futuretrees plantlets throughout Sarawak. We have mastered the tissue culture Bio-technology and our tissue culture lab currently produces an average of 1.8 million plantlets on an annual basis, with plans to expand production capacity.
The group’s investment arm, DesignFutures Venture Pte Ltd offers opportunities for collaboration as well as attracting capital investments and talents into Sarawak from Singapore through the development of projects involving food security, environment, data and space.
